REAL LIFE FAMILY + EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY

LOOKING FOR TRADITIONAL FAMILY PORTRAITURE?
And by that I mean that perfect family photo.
You know the ones; where everyone is in their matching and carefully coordinated outfits which were bought especially for the occasion. They're sitting in a park or random field. The children are delightful, cooperative [and clean], smiling on cue for the photographer. Carefully composed, perfectly styled. Everything is Pinterest perfect.
What if there was another way...
to celebrate and document your family without it becoming a big production?
The laughter, the love and even the tears and tantrums. The seemingly unimportant moments; the loud, funny, ordinary, repetitive routines and mundane nuances of your 'everyday' life. Those moments and experiences that have such a significant influence in shaping who we are and, who we become.
Remember the way life was and the way you felt.
That's exactly what documentary family photography offers. It's a unique approach to documenting and preserving the story of your family; life's big events, the ordinary nuances of your everyday and everything in between.
It's simply meaningful real life moments beautifully photographed.
OUR LIVES ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH
You'll notice that there are no photos of families laughing together in a random field somewhere (unless we're out on a farm or exploring the great outdoors) and it's because I believe that real life is enough. And while life maybe chaotic, challenging, messy and dysfunctional, it is also filled with laughter, love, adventure, absolute wonder and beautiful in sometimes surprising ways.
I have never wanted to mould families into being anything other than themselves to suit a particular creative vision or pursuit. What I offer families is the opportunity to see their lives from a fresh perspective. I love working with families that realise that time is fleeting and who understand the value in connection over the unattainable pursuit of 'perfection'.
For me, documenting our lives is about capturing our humanity so when the seasons of life have passed taking with it our all too often fragile memories, we can look back and see our lives were not just skewed towards pretty pictures.
We can trust what we see was indeed a true representation, and reflection, of the places and people within the frame.
